County Officials Close Precautionary Special Needs Shelter at 6:00 P.M. (10/07/2017)

Niceville, Fla. –  As of 6:00 p.m. on October 7, the Okaloosa County Public Safety Department has closed the Special Needs Shelter at Davidson Middle School in Crestview due to the reduced projected impact Hurricane Nate poses to the county. The general public shelter located at Davidson Middle School will remain open through the night.

The shelters were opened at 8:00 a.m. on October 7 as a precautionary measure.

Residents are advised to visit www.alertokaloosa.website for up-to-date information, as well as helpful tips on how to be prepared for future tropical weather, evacuation routes, and other information.
